Expert review of the OKI MC861 printer
The Oki MC861 is all that is needed for printing, scanning, faxing and copying. This unit delivers good quality output at reasonable speeds. The Oki MC861 all-in-one laser printer can handle a wide range of media as large as an A3. This workhorse can handle 75,000 pages per month and has a recommended monthly print volume of 10,000 pages. It has a large hard disk drive memory of 40GB to store information and handle complex print jobs. The Oki MC861 colour multifunction printer does not have built-in networking connectivity and duplexer.
Design
The cube-like Oki MC861 multifunction printer has a flatbed scanner with a 50-sheet automatic document feeder on top and a printer at the bottom. The paper tray can handle 400 sheets. The MC861 colour laser printer has a print speed of 15 ppm for coloured and 17 ppm for monochrome A3-sized print jobs. For connectivity, a hi-speed USB port is on the back of the Oki MC861.
Advantages
Both Macintosh and Windows is supported by the printer. Users will have no trouble operating the Oki MC861 A3 colour laser MFP printer, thanks to the LCD touch screen on the control panel. To help save resources in the offices, PC-fax and scan to email, PC, and USB flash drive functions are available. Fortunately, the MC861 laser printer can use long-life consumables including the 10,000 page Oki MC861 colour toner cartridges which keep this machine running at a low cost-per-print.
Disadvantages
The Oki MC861 printer could be more useful if it had built-in networking options such as Wi-Fi or Ethernet. An automatic duplexer can also help in reducing paper waste in the office.
