The compact HP Deskjet 5740xi colour inkjet printer is designed for SOHO users. This model has a high print resolution and offers decent speeds. It may use inkjet printing technology but the HP Deskjet 5740xi delivers laser-quality text documents and clear, vibrant images. This model is easy to use and operate. It has a monthly duty cycle of 3,000 pages. Network connectivity isn't available.

Design

The HP Deskjet 5740xi inkjet printer measures 17.72 x 8.43 x 6.3 inches and weighs 3.3kg. For connectivity, a USB port is available. The Deskjet 5740xi printer has a standard memory of 2MB and 16MB of RAM. This model can handle a wide range of media and can even support borderless photo and borderless panoramic. The input tray can handle 100 plain sheets at a time.

Advantages

The HP 5740xi Deskjet printer offers a resolution of 4800 x 1200dpi for colour and 1200 x 1200dpi for black. Print speed can go as fast as 23ppm for mono and 18ppm for colour. Users can expect high quality photos from the HP 5740xi colour inkjet printer. A front USB port is available for direct printing. The control panel offers one-touch print and cancel buttons as well as an ink status display. It even has automatic ink-back-up printing mode.

Disadvantages

The HP Deskjet 5740xi colour printer would be better if it offered standard Wi-Fi connectivity.
